cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon crumbled rosemary
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup nonfat plain yogurt
8 medium (1 1/4 pounds) fresh California plums
1 pound lean boneless lamb or beef, cut into 1 1/4-inch cubes
1. Combine lime juice, oil, garlic, sugar, rosemary and pepper in bowl.
2. For sauce, remove 1 tablespoon of this marinade and mix with yogurt. Set
aside in refrigerator.
3. Add lamb to remaining marinade and refrigerate for 1 or 2 hours, stirring
occasionally.
4. Cut plums into large cubes. String lamb and plum cubes on skewers. Brush
skewers with marinade and grill over medium coals for 15 to 20 minutes or until
done as desired. Serve skewers with sauce.
I never married because there was no need. I have three pets at
home which answer the same purpose as a husband. I have a dog which growls every
morning, a parrot which swears all afternoon and a cat that comes home late at
night.
