James's Southwest Ham Steaks

 

2 center cut ham steaks about 3/4 inch thick
1 tablespoon butter
Rub Mixture:
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Directions:
1. In small pan, melt butter.

2. In small bowl, rub mixture ingredients.

3. Brush melted butter on both sides of ham steaks.

4. Sprinkle rub on both sides of the steaks.

5. Preheat grill to medium heat.

6. Place ham steaks on grill grid and grill using the Direct Medium heat for 6 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling time.
