Mushroom Onion Burger

medium onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
11/4 cup sliced mushrooms
4 tesp margarine or butter
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
4 tes fine dry bread crumbs
4 tsp mustard
salt & pepper1
16 oz ground beef, pork, raw turkey, or raw chicken
4 slices Monterey Jack, Swiss, or provolone cheese
4 buns
In a small saucepan cook mushrooms and onion in margarine
or butter over medium-low heat for 10 to 15 minutes or until onion is
very tender, stirring occasionally. Set aside
Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl stir together the sour cream, bread crumbs,
mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir in ground beef, pork, turkey, or
chicken.
Shape meat mixture into four 3/4-inch-thick patties. If using turkey
and it looks dry add more mustard
Grill patties on rack of uncovered
grill directly over medium
coals for 15 to 18 minutes, toast buns, add cheese cook till melted
serve as hamburger with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onion, mustard
or whatever you like. Serve with Guacamole

To broil, place meat patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan.
Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat for 8 minutes.
Turn and broil 8 to 10 minutes more or Place a slice of cheese atop
each burger. Broil about 1 minute more or until cheese begins to melt.
Reality is a narrow little house which becomes a prison for those
who can't get out.
