Granny's Rancho Green Beans


1/2 cup chopped onion (1 small)
Salt & pepper
Dash of hot sauce
2 strips strips of bacon
1 clove clove of garlic, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup chopped tomato (1 small)
1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped (1 tablespoon)
1 can (14 1/2 oz)  cut green beans, drained


Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes or until crisp. Place bacon on paper towels to drain. Chop bacon and set aside for later use. Drain bacon fat from skillet, reserving 1 teaspoon in skillet for cooking. Heat bacon fat in skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic, hot sauce, tomato and jalapeno. Cook 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add green beans and 2 tablespoons water; stir to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook uncovered 4 more minutes. Place green beans in serving dish and top with chopped bacon
