James's Private Biscuits

5 cups flour
3 tbs sugar
1 tbs baking powder  
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 cup butter
1 envelope active dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water  
2 cups buttermilk
Melted butter about 3/4 cup

Combine the dry ingredients and sift together into a mixing bowl. Using 
2 knives or pastry blender cut in the butter, until the mixture is like a coarse meal.
Dissolve the yeast in warm water. Add to dry ingredients with the buttermilk.
Blend thoroughly. Turn out on lightly floured board and roll or pat to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut out with round 21/2 cutter. Dip rounds of dough into melted butter, then fold in half.
Freeze, well wrapped in6 to a batch or bake on an ungreased pan and bake @ 400
for 15 min. The frozen biscuits may be baked straight from freezer. Allow 18-20 mins
