Lynn's Shrimp Gumbo
1 slc (thin) ham
4 cup Okra, sliced thin
2 cup Chopped onions
2 x Cloves garlic, chopped
3 tsp Chopped parsley
1 can (8-oz) tomato sauce
2 lb Fresh shrimp
4 cup Water
1 tsp Seafood seasoning (optional)
1/2 tsp Red pepper
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
Cooked rice
Method :
Cut ham into small pieces. Saute lightly in a skillet. Add okra, and brown
lightly, stirring constantly. Add onions, garlic, parsley, and tomato sauce, and
let simmer for a few minutes. Add shrimp, water, seafood seasoning, red pepper,
salt, and pepper. Let cook for 1 hour over very slow heat. Serve over cooked
rice.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
