James's Fried Green Corn

6 ears of corn
2 tablespoons of fresh bacon fat
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

Slice the corn from the cob. Scrape the cob downward to get any remaining corn left near the cob. Heat a 9-inch skillet and add the fat. When hot, spoon in the corn and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring often. While cooking, sprinkle in salt, sugar, and pepper. Serve hot. Serves 5.
