Eyed Pea Corn Bread

cup all purpose flour
21/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
11/4 cups cornmeal
2 4 oz cans green chilies chopped and drained well
2 gloves garlic crushed
1 slightly beaten egg
3 tbs melted butter
1 cup milk
1 14oz can black eyed peas, drained
Preheat oven to 425, grease a 9 inch round cake pan and put
in oven until hot mix dry ingredients with chilies and garlic in
a medium bowl. and make a well in center pour in eggs, butter and milk.
Combine with a few quick strokes and pour half batter into pan
scatter 2/3 can of peas over batter.
Add rest of batter and top with rest of peas bake 25-35 min
