Granny's Old Fashion Boiled Custards

 

4 eggs
2/3 cup sugar
1 tsp flour
Pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 qt milk

Separate the eggs and beat the yolks until they are a lemon color. Blend in
sugar and salt. In another bowl beat egg whites until very stiff. Add 2/3 of egg whites to
yolk mixture. Bring milk to a boiling point over a very low heat, stirring frequently.
Add the yolk mixture, to the milk stirring constantly until it sheets of spoon in great pieces
it is then ready to remove from heat. Add the rest of egg whites and vanilla. The egg whites
give a rough finish to custard.

You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all of the time
