 Granny's Pralines

 

1 cup water
2 tbs butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped pecans

In pan, bring water and butter to a boil, stir in sugars. Return to a boiling; Boil 1 min stirring.
Remove from heat stir in vanilla and pecans. Beat until mixture thickens slightly. 
Drop by tsp onto wax papper. Let cool

Buttermilk Pralines

2 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp soda
1 tbs corn syrup
11/2 cups chopped pecans
1 tbs vanilla
1/4 cup butter

Combine sugar, buttermilk, soda and syrup in pan. Over moderate heat, cook to softball stage
(234 -240 on candy thermometer). Remove from heat add pecans, vanilla and butter,
stir until butter is melted. Cool until mixture begins to thicken, dop by spoonfuls
on wax papper.

Note; It will thicken fast.

  Quick Pralines

1  3oz box butterscotch pudding
1 Cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups pecan pieces

Mix all ingredients except vanilla and pecans. Boil for 2 mins, stirring constantly.
Add pecans and vanilla, stir and cook 1-2 min. Drop by tablespoon on waxed paper.

The only simularities in this world is how everything is different.
