  Granny's Peanut Butter Cookies

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 1/4 cups packed dark brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda

Cream together shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt.
-Combine flour and baking soda.
-Slowly beat dry mixture into wet mixture.
-Roll dough, 3 Tbls. at a time, into balls and press to 1/2" thick on an ungreased baking sheet.
-Bake in a 275 degree oven for 18-20 minutes. Do not to overcook
