  Simple Pear Pickle

You can substitute the pears for hard plums or melon flesh if you wish.

This pickle needs a long time to mature - but is worth the wait!

convert measurements
900 g hard pears
900 g sugar
900 ml white vinegar
2 cloves

1. Remove peel, core and seeds from the pears and cut into small pieces.

Boil in water until soft. Drain well.

2. Boil the sugar, vinegar and cloves for 30 minutes.

Then add the softened pear and boil for a further 15 minutes.

3. Pour into warm sterilized jars, and keep somewhere cool and dark for 6 months.

The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side.
