Brats
1 1/2 lbs Regular or Beer Brats
1 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic minced
2 cups Hash Browns
1 (32 oz) can Sauerkraut, drained & rinsed
1 cup chopped Frozen Fuji Apple Slices
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Heat a large skillet over High heat for 3 minutes. Add the fresh brat
sausages and cook on all sides until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Remove brats
from skillet and place on paper towels to drain.
Retain 2 tablespoon sausage drippings from pan and add chopped onions and
garlic. Stir-fry onions over Medium-High heat for 3 minutes or until golden
brown. Add hash brown potatoes and apples to onions and continue cooking over
medium heat for 3 more minutes. Add drained Bavarian sauerkraut to potato
mixture and stir-fry for one minute. Arrange sausages over sauerkraut mixture
and add 1 1/2 cup water. Cook sausages over medium heat for 10 more minutes.
