Grits
Lynn's Onion Cheese Grits
1 cup grits
2 cups water
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 teaspoons instant chicken bouillon
2 tablespoons butter
2-4 ounces grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup half & half (Optional)
Directions
Place grits in a bowl, cover with water and stir. Skim off the chaff that rises
to the top, stir and skim again. Drain off water. In a heavy bottomed sauce pan
combine 2 cups water, butter, chopped onion and instant chicken bouillon, bring
to a boil and add grits. Reduce heat to low and cook covered 20 minutes,
stirring occasionally. Once all the liquid has been absorbed stir in cheese and
half & half.
Serves 6.
