James's Orange Molasses Glazed Ham

 

2 canned hams (3 pounds each) or 1 canned ham (7 pounds)
3/4 cup of dark molasses
3/4 cup of orange juice
1/2 cup of apricot preserves
2 teaspoons of prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon of ground allspice
Orange sections and watercress for garnish

Place the ham on rack of shallow roasting pan.
With knife, score surface.
Bake according to the label directions or at 325ºF., for about 20 minutes per pound.
In a blender combine the molasses, orange juice, preserves, mustard and allspice.
Cover and blend until smooth.
Arrange orange sections down center of ham.
Spoon glaze over ham several times during the last half hour of baking.
Remove the ham to heated platter.
Garnish with additional orange sections and watercress.
Heat any remaining glaze and serve as sauce.
Makes 12 to 14 servings
