Sun Pickles
You are going to need a sunny spot for this recipe!
enough dill cucumbers to fill a single quart/1.2 litres/2 pint jar
2 tbsp salt
2 chopped cloves of garlic
2 tbsp dry dill seed
125 ml distilled white vinegar
water
1. Wash and cut the cucumbers into any shape you like.
Pack the cucumbers into a clean, sterilized jar (not too tightly).
2. Add all the other ingredients to the jar, and fill up with water.
3. Screw on the lid tightly, and set in a sunny window sill,
turning upside down every 24 hours for 4 days.
The sun will seal the jars (if the weather is not too sunny one day, leave for
an extra day!). Eat at leisure!
Three things give the student the possibility of surpassing his
teacher: ask a lot of questions, remember the answers, teach.
