Lynn's Pear Preserves

1 gallon sliced pears (or figs)
2 qt. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice

Pour sugar over fruit, leave overnight. Do not add water. Cook real slow, around 4-5 hours. Seal in clean jars. Makes 4-5 pints of preserves
