Granny's Beef and Calabaza

 

31/2 lb about 1/4 inch thick round steak 
3 to 4 tbs bacon dripping or oil
2 onions chopped
3 large cloves garlic, minced
4 to 41/2 lb calabaza (zucchini)
8 ears corn (or 3 17 oz whole kernel corn)
2 16 oz can tomatoes
2 tbs cumin
Salt & pepper

Cut steak into bite size chunks, brown in oil. Add onions and garlic and continue to brown
for several min. Wash, stem, and seed squash and cut into 1 to 11/2 in chunks, but do not peel.
Cut corn into 11/2 in chunks cob and all. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1 hour 30 min.
