Lynn's Cherry Cheese Pie

 

2 packages cream cheese, (8oz) softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 chocolate or graham cracker pie crust
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 can cherry pie filling, (21oz)


Combine cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, eggs, and almond extract in a mixing bowl; beat until smooth and fluffy. Pour into pie crust. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 35 minutes or until set.
Combine sour cream, 2 tablespoons sugar, and vanilla in a small bowl. Spread over top of pie; return to oven and bake 5 more minutes. Cool to room temperature; refrigerate. Top with cherry pie filling before serving. Serves 8 to 10.
