 Lynn's Easy Orange Chutney



Only 3 steps to tasty chutney - if you fancy a milder version substitute 
1 tsp of ground ginger for the chilies.


750 g cooking apples
100 g oranges
350 g dates
350 g red tomatoes
750 g sugar
1.5 liters vinegar
25 g chilies
2 tsp salt


1. Peel, core and chop the apples, peel and chop the oranges, 
stone and mince the dates, slice the tomatoes and chop the chilies.

2. Put everything in a large pan and bring to the boil.
Simmer for about an hour or until thick and brown.

3. Pour into sterilized jars and seal firmly. Store for at least 3 weeks before using.
