Tex Mex Rice & Beans

 

Kat's Pinto Beans 

 

1 pound pinto beans, picked for rocks
2 tbs ranchero sauce  Sauces Mexican 
3 each tbs soy sauce and red hot sauce
1 smoked ham hock or fat back
 salt & pepper
1 can beer
1 tbs garlic powder
water or beer

Put all in pan, cover with enough water to be 2 inches over beans. 
Cover and bring to a boil, boil 5 mins. Cut off heat and let stand 1 hr.
After 1 hour simmer, for 2 hours or until tender. Make sure beans are 
always covered with liquid, add water or beer.

Instead of any water you can substitute beer.
