Kat's Chicken Pieces Smothered Chicken

 

Chicken pieces, legs thighs or breast
Flour
(coating chicken and making gravy)
Salt
Black pepper
Granulated garlic
Canola oil, margarine, or butter
(for browning chicken)
Onion, sliced
Water

Wash chicken pieces; pat dry. Shake with mixture of flour, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic in a paper bag to coat evenly.

Brown pieces and place in a single layer in a roasting pan.

Saute onions until salt in drippings in frying pan; stir in water and salt.

Heat stirring constantly until boiling.

Pour over chicken, cover.

Bake in moderate oven at 350 for 1 hour or until chicken is tender.

Blend remaining flour with oil or margarine.

Stir about 2 minutes, then add water and simmer until thickened. Pour over chicken to serve.
