 Cullen's Cheese & Sausage Chowder

 

8 ounces reduced-fat smoked sausage
3/4 cup whole kernel corn
3/4 cup frozen onion seasoning blend (thawed)
1 to 2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups water
8 ounces medium sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 cup 2 percent milk


1. Cook sausage, corn and onion seasoning blend in butter in medium saucepan over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.

2. Add water and heat to boiling; reduce heat to low and add cheese, stirring until melted.

3. Add milk; cook until hot 4 to 5 minutes (do not boil).

If someone is said to have a “yellow streak,” that person is considered a coward.
