          Horn Hot Tomato Soup

 

1 tbs oil                                                                      
1/2 tesp cumin seed
1 large chopped jalapeno                                          
1 chopped celery stalk
1large shallot minced                                                
1 can drained corn
2 large tomatoes cored & diced                               
2 small cans tomato sauce
11/3 cup chicken broth                                              
1 bay leaf
1/4 tesp pepper                                                           
salt


Heat oil in saucepan add cumin seeds, jalapeno, celery, shallot and sauté 5 min, Add corn and tomatoes
and cook over high heat to tomatoes are pulpy 5 min. Add tomato sauce, broth and bay leaf, salt and
pepper. Simmer 10 min and serve  

The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from.
