Granny's Basil Tomatoes



10  lbs tomatoes, peeled and quarter (I dont seed but if you do up the tomatoes to 13 pounds) 
10  teaspoons fresh basil leaves, chopped 
 bottled lemon juice 

In a large pot put in 4 cups tomatoes and crush.
Add remaining tomatoes and bring to a boil.
Reduce to a simmer and cook for 2 hours stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and add basil.
Put 1 T.
lemon juice into pint jars 2 T.
lemon juice into quart jars-those would be sterilized jars please.
Ladle tomatoes leaving 1/2 inch head space.
Process 35 minutes for pints, 45 minutes for quarts-boiling water bath method.
No set amount of jars-it's whatever amount you end up with depending on liquid content.
