Granny's Baked Tomatoes

 

firm ripe tomatoes 
melted butter or margarine or olive oil
thinly sliced onions, optional 
shredded or grated cheese, your choice 
chopped fresh herbs - parsley, rosemary, basil, chives 


Remove stems and cores of firm tomatoes; slice. Brush tomato slices with melted butter or olive oil. Top with thinly sliced onion if desired, shredded cheese, and chopped fresh herbs. Bake at 425° 10 to 15 minutes. 

 

The great secret that all old people share is that you really haven't changed in seventy or eighty years. Your body changes, but you don't change at all. And that, of course, causes great confusion.
